Mini-Knowles, Solange is currently jetting around the world promoting her new single “I Decided”. I have got all jizzy about this before, so I won’t bother now. But this made me smile.
In a recent performance of the single, Solange was joined on stage by a grooving stage crasher. Rather than going nuts at the situation, or panicking, Solange told security to leave him be. ”He ain’t hurtin’ nobody.” She then began dancing with him. Go Solange! Check it out:
The whole of the new Disney film/cash cow, “Camp Rock” feat. the “amazing” Joe Jonas, has leaked on YouTube. I wouldn’t pay to see it, but if it’s on YouTube, I might bother. (They didn’t even remove the copyright statement. How fabulous. Fuck the mouse.)
If you’ve been paying attention to anything I’ve been banging on about recently, you may have heard of Fred. Fred is a fictional YouTube character created by some kid… that’s all the backstory I know. He’s extremely talented though, and his YouTube videos to date have been pant-wettingly hilario.
Fred is a poor and rather misguided 6 year old, with an alcoholic mother and a crush on the local tramp (who is not good enough for you, Fred!). His collection of three minute YouTube videos take us through the perils of growing up, from love to Christmas to those awful trips to the dentist we all fucking hate.
However, something strange has suddenly happened to Fred. The kid’s gone corporate! In one of his videos, Fred receives a Zipit (some kind of shitty kids Blackberry). The makers of Zipit have clearly noticed, and this has sprung up. WTF?!//!?!?!/11!? How much is he getting paid? The site features a Fred video style advert for the product, as well as links to buy a Zipit “just like his.”
Kudos to the kid, he’s done well, and as the following YouTube vid demonstrates, he continues to be awesome. But, to have some kind of corporate sponsorship deal after posting a few YouTube vids at an age where Miley Cyrus is cool does make me vomit in my mouth a little. Ah well, here’s wishing good things to young Fred, maybe now he can move out of his trailer and become a big LA star.
Bonkers! Absolutely fucking bonkers! If you missed all the excitement on YouTube, then let me introduce you to Tricia Walsh-Smith, the most amazing thing on YouTube this week. Tricia was married to someone old and rich in the US - he is the CEO of some company or something - but she’s being divorced. She’s blonde, not unattractive and 25 years his junior, and so she’s done what any self-respecting woman would do and setup a YouTube channel to rant about him. And beg for donations to fund her divorce case and get her hands on his massive “9 room, Park Ave.” New York apartment.
It sounds rubbish, until you realise that the lovely Tricia is actually batty. She wrote a play called ‘Bonkers’ (ironically). Seriously, she’s 10 years off becoming the cat lady. The highlight so far has been Tricia ringing her husbands secretary to tell her that she and her husband had never had sex. Fab.
Pop culture can be so dull and drab, but it can also be like an orgasm in an ice cream shop. Daneeeboy is about celebrating the stuff that makes your clit tingle, and not the other stuff. Simon Cowell is not welcome here. If you are Simon Cowell, please fuck off.
I like stuff that is independent. Stuff that speaks for itself. Stuff that makes me want to dance. Stuff that makes me want to cry. Stuff that's cheap and tacky. The glamorous, the dirty, the over the top and the insane.
