Hello! Well, basically, there is a new Daneeeboy.com on it's merry little way (with actual content!). But in the meantime I needed something to put here that wasn't the default 'bugger off' page. So to the right is some 'content' - a bit of news and a few features to wet your appetite, so to speak.
The new site will be along... soonish. In the meantime I am being hilarious on Twitter:
This new song from one-time golden-boys Maroon 5 sounds quite like it could be from their first album, doesn't it? It's called "Misery"; let's just hope it doesn't end in chart misery for them (hahaha... *resigns*).
It's quite good though, in a laying by the pool and it's summer kind of way...
There are no words for quite how breathtaking Lady Gaga's second Rolling Stone cover is. Donning the machine-gun bra from the recently revealed Alejandro video, Gaga clearly wants us to know who's in charge. (Hint: she is.)
The Alejandro video may have got some stick for being an overblown, self-indulgent mess, but this cover proves that you can't count Lady Gaga out for one small misstep.
Excuse our ignorance, but to us Kelly Rowland was always the one with the bad haircuts in Destiny's Child. And after that she was the one that wasn't Beyonce/a bit nuts. But it does explain why her first outing with DJ 'of-the-moment' David Guetta - the massive Ibiza anthem "When Love Takes Over" - took us by surprise. That was a very good guest vocal on a very good song, though. And it seems, if a formula works, sticking by it is the answer...
So here's the video for her new single (featuring Guetta) - "Commander". To use an oft overused Tyra Banks term, the song and accompanying video are fierce. "Right now I command you to, dance" is one of those pop lyrics guaranteed to dominate your speakers this summer.
Sadly for America, this song is considered a bit 'European' to get a proper release over there (although why the US resists embracing massive thumping dance tracks is slightly beyond me...). But this does mean that Kelly has a second single lined up for our cheeseburger loving cousins, the Dr. Luke produced "Rose Colored Glasses". And with its melancholic beats (seemingly stolen from Ryan Tedder), the song is the perfect accompaniment to the massive dance tune that is "Commander".
'Kelly does dance-pop' makes a much more enticing album prospect than some of the crap she's put out before... just sayin (*cough*Ms. Kelly*cough*). Well done, Kelly.
Has Katy Perry been having singing lessons? Either way, her performance of her latest single "California Gurls" at last nights MMVAs was rather spectacular. She's clearly going to beat the hell out of this California/Candyland theme.
Still atleast she ditched the blue wig and opted to sticking a couple of lollipops on her breasts. She's just dying to be nicknamed 'sugartits', huh?

Miley Cyrus Channels Her Inner Britney
This is all so Slave 4 U at the VMAs, isn't it? It's quite brilliant, I must say. Miley Cyrus continues to throw dollars at her live performance with a bloody great performance of her latest single "Can't Be Tamed" at Canada's MMVA awards last night.
Her little yelp at 2:38 is the reason Miley might be on a course to be the world's greatest popstar. Just sayin'.

Boyband The Wanted Do A Quite Good Cheryl Cole
Brand new pretty boyband The Wanted have done a quite good acoustic cover of Cheryl Cole Tweedy's single "Fight For This Love". It's all in quite a 'lets-make-some-bonus-Youtube-content' style, but hey, atleast they can sing.
The band's debut single "All Time Low" is quite a good. Well, it is atleast a guilty pleasure for me in the same kind of way Blue's first album was. It's just a shame that they have probably the least googlable band name and single title in recent history.
How many All Time Low fans were horribly disappointed to see five pretty boys bounding around to a massive pop midtempo?
And "a vital presentation" is just not a pop lyric.
I like them really, though. Well done, The Wanted. Now if you could pop my cheque in the post...

The Scissor Sisters Perform "Fire With Fire" On Jonathon Ross
On Friday night the Scissor Sisters took to the Jonathon Ross stage to promote their new single "Fire With Fire." And it was a performance fitting to their superb album new album, Night Work.
Here is a selection of high quality clips from Kylie Minogue's very very very very very highly anticipated forthcoming album, Aphrodite.
Including bonus tracks! Excitement much.

OH GOD THIS SCISSOR SISTERS PROMOTIONAL IS BRILLIANT
The new Scissor Sisters album, Night Work, is all kinds of brilliant. And it's filthy 80's gay approach is reflected in this inspired bit of marketing for the album.
Warning!: Absolutely NSFW.

Jeffree Star 'Good Taste' Killer
Time for a confessional, I don't dislike Jeffree Star. I realise he's 'totally MySpace' and in the age of Facebook we're supposed to pretend that MySpace never happened, but I call that denial. There's something endearing about Jeffree as a 'celebrity'; he's a self-made pink haired freak who brought out the stan in millions of impressionable teenagers.
While a music career seemed an 'obvious' move for Jeffree, it seems to have taken so long to come to fruition that everyone's moved on to worrying about who Tulisa from N-Dubz is bonking and left the age of gratuitous MySpace pictures well and truly dead. And the new video for Jeffree's latest single - the title track from his debut album Beauty Killer - is a bit of a 'this-would-have-been-cool-in-2005' affair.
It's a cheap affair; a very cheap affair. And while Jeffree was always interesting because he was more of a femininely styled guy as opposed to a transexual, he's channeling your average highstreet tranny in this outing. It just doesn't work or fit the superstar image that Jeffree has built over the years. And the song is far from his greatest musical moment (for that you'd do well to check the album or his previous Cupcakes Taste Like Violence EP.
Perhaps you can chalk the whole Jeffree Star thing up to being little more than a fluke in a specific moment. Or perhaps he was just too different to ever fit the industry mould and doesn't have the guidance (or evidently, funding) to take it to the next level. Either way, this whole release feels a shockingly embarrassing hangover.

Selena Gomez & The Scene - "Round and Round" video
So here is the aforementioned Selena Gomez & The Scene video for "Round and Round". As you can see, it's a very stylish affair. No Disney Dollars spared, etc.
It's no "Can't Be Tamed", but she's quite pretty, and she does the whole 'Jessica Fletcher' thing quite well. Now Angela Lansbury & The Scene, there's an idea...

Uffie's ADD SUV.
Look out, 2007 called and it told us about Uffie.
Uffie's one of those names that has been knocking about for ages but has never really done alot (besides a few rather amazing songs, of course). So we're all rather thrilled that the original Ke$ha has finally delivered an actual album in the form of Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans. First single "Pop The Glock" was released last year, but Uffie is back in 2010 to show off some of her impressive collaborations, this time with Pharrell and former Madonna "Music" producer, Mirwais.
The video is a bit of a dull affair, but the song's really quite good.

Justin Bieber "Somebody To Love (Remix)"... Sadly Not A Queen Cover
If you have been following the whole Justin Bieber thing then you may be disappointed to learn that his new single "Somebody To Love" is not in fact a cover of the Queen classic. Regardless, he's got a Biebervideo with some Bieberdancing in it for the song in question.
And the man responsible for the whole Bieberthing pops up to look absolutely ridiculous next to Biebs' body-poppin. Poor Usher, we guess he just can't stop saying "yeah!". *hangs self*

Christina's A Massive Flop Etc.
This is a sad story, so I won't dwell on the subject. But Christina Aguilera looks to suffer a horrendous chart drop this week with her new album, Bionic scored one of the measliest number ones in UK chart history.
Bionic is currently sitting at #18, but is predicted to slide out of the top 20 before the week is out. Ouch.

Katy Perry Confirms "Teenage Dreams" for Teen Choice
California 'Gurl' (eugh) Katy Perry has confirmed that the followup to her current 'hit' single will be the title track from her forthcoming sophomore album, Teenage Dreams.
The song has been described as "summer in bottle". Let's hope that's not a UK summer to match her new uK fiance.
Speaking of which, Katy will also be hosting (and possibly performing said new single) at the Teen Choice Awards. Which I think officially makes Katy and hubby-to-be Russell Brand the award show hosting couple of choice.

The Saturdays "Missing You" Teaser Thingy
The Saturdays have put a preview of their new video for their 'big summer single' online! As you can see it's a big dance routine on the beach affair.
Miley Cyrus should be worried, because fellow Disney starlet Selena Gomez has her eye on Miley's new found mega-popstar status. And while Miley's "I'm a grown up now" album is really rather good, Selena Gomez is causing a bit of fuss around her new single from her forthcoming second album.
"Round and Round" is a bit Kylie Minogue, and as such, reasonably good. In all honesty it's no "Can't Be Tamed" but it's better than anything she's done before. It's a fun summery little track, designed for long days on the beach.
There are alot of 'teasers' out there for the video at the moment. They're mostly 4 seconds long and shit and I can't be bothered posting them here but if you're into that kind of thing they're on Idolator.

Miley Cyrus and Bret Michaels Do The Obvious
No, not that.
Ever since Miley Cyrus decided to cover Poison's "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" for her new album, the world has been crying out for a duet between Miley and Bret Michaels (not really). And yesterday, on Good Morning America, we got that moment.
It was horribly flat on Miley's part, and not much better from Bret. But atleast we got it out of the way.

Rihanna Channels The Late, Great Jacko
Although currently taking on the world in her Last Girl On Earth tour, Rihanna's label are wasting no times in furthering their plans for her world domination.
Def Jam A&R Bu Thiam has revealed in a blog:
“I’m trying to push her to where every song will be a hit from 1 to 12. I’m talking about NO album fillers... Our bar for this album is Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller.’”
Call me a fool, but surely this is 'the bar' for any album? Or atleast, where you should be aiming. How many A&R meetings take place where they come to the consensus that an artist's next release should aim to be the next "Ethel Merman's Disco Album"?
In spite of the wondrous dark undertones of Rated R, if Rihanna can succeed in creating the next Thriller I'll never listen to a Lady Gaga song again.

Mark Ronson Goes "Bang Bang Bang" With New Video
I have alot of time for Mark Ronson, generally. The 00's uber-producer, most famous for sticking some horns and Amy Winehouse on The Zutons' "Valerie", is returning with a brand new album. His last effort, Version featured cameos from the likes of Lily Allen, and was, in short, bloody good. So high hopes for #2, then.
The first single from the album, Record Collection (released under the name Mark Ronson and The Business this July) is called "Bang Bang Bang" ad features Q-Tip and MNDR.
To go along with the song, Ronson has made a super-cool French 80's video, which can be enjoyed above.
