Hello! Well, basically, there is a new Daneeeboy.com on it's merry little way (with actual content!). But in the meantime I needed something to put here that wasn't the default 'bugger off' page. So to the right is some 'content' - a bit of news and a few features to wet your appetite, so to speak.
The new site will be along... soonish. In the meantime I am being hilarious on Twitter:
Christina Aguilera's current album may be a massive pile of shit, but thankfully she's got a backup plan in the form of her first starring Hollywood movie role in the forthcoming "Burlesque". THE MOVIE ALSO FEATURES CHER. And this is reason enough to make us moist.
The movie is your standard post-Moulin Rouge musical fare. Cher (CHER!) is the 'madam' of a struggling burlesque club while Christina is the smalltown girl who shows up looking all innocent only to become the star of the raunchy show. Think Coyote Ugly but with more injected collagen. Quite how they're going to make Christina seem wide-eyed and innocent is beyond us, but we'll mainly be there to see CHER!
The movie's soundtrack features tracks by Danja (BLACKOUT!) and Sia (THE ONLY GOOD SONG ON BIONIC!). This is also reason enough to get us excited. We hope it'll be like a big screen, slightly camper Pussycat Dolls. Oh that Antin bird is involved too, FYI.
Here are some still from the movie that only go to show that this is a cult classic in the making.

Kelly Rowland Continues To Be Amazing While Popping Into The Live Lounge
For those who were wondering where anyone with a password to the Daneeeboy.com backend was this weekend; duh, it was London's Gay Pride weekend. And while it was mostly a drunken haze, one thing we do remember was hearing a shitload of Kelly Rowland's awesome new single "Commander" blaring out of bars and stalls. What better seal of approval than being played on loop by a bunch of gays?
During all the excitement we missed Kelly's performance on Radio 1's Live Lounge. And that's a shame really, because it really was quite superb. Ms. Rowland turned her back on Guetta's big beats and autotune to deliver an acoustic version of the single. Great singles sound amazing in any form (see also: "Poker Face") and "Commander" is a great single. Ergo, Amazing.

Kylie Officially Launches Aphrodite In The Albums Spiritual Home
Ever since the inception of Kylie's latest album Aphrodite she has been talking about the spiritual heart of the album; a euphoric dance journey through an Ibizan night. So what better way to celebrate the album finally being available worldwide yesterday than by flying a bunch of journalists out to Ibiza for a bit of a press conference with Ms. Minogue followed by a big camp performance at Pacha?
As you can see from the video above, the whole thing looked like alot of fun. Alas the Daneeeboy.com invitation got lost in the post, and we're green with envy at those lucky people who got to be there.
During the launch Kylie confirmed that she will be embarking on a mahussive 'Aphrodite' tour next year, and that the second single to be taken from the new LP will be the catchy-as-hell "Get Outta My Way".
Now I need a Sangria.

Miley Cyrus Does "Jolene"
Fresh from promoting her brilliant new album Can't Be Tamed Miley Cyrus has visited Dollywood to celebrate its 25th anniversary with her 'fairy Godmother' Dolly Parton. The two took to the stage to perform an awesome version of Dolly's country classic "Jolene". A song, which feels somewhat appropriate for Ms. Cyrus.
We wonder how many years it'll take before Miley looks like a mini-Dolly.

Two New Kylie Songs; One Of These Is Very Good, The Other Is Not
If you've been on this website at all over the past couple of weeks you may have noticed that Kylie Minogue has a new album coming out. While she has been getting us all excited with the material from the almost flawless Aphrodite, old Kylie has been holding out on us. Bonus tracks "Mighty Rivers" and "Heartstrings" are now 'out there', and while the former isn't all that, the latter may be better than almost anything on the album itself.
Both tracks have been produced by the team behind the all-conquering Girls Aloud, Xenomania. Xenomania's work has been a bit flaky of late, ranging from the sublime to the absolute rubbish. "Mighty Rivers" sounds a bit like the usual Xenomania fare; light on melody, heavy on Girls Aloud worthy production. It's mostly forgettable, and rightly excluded from the album itself.
"Heartstrings", on the other hand is one of the most glorious pop songs we've heard in a while. Yes it's saccharine sweet and very Xenomania in its construction, but the warm floating chorus lifts the track way above your average album off-cut. Infact, this little number may be the song that Aphrodites tracklisting was missing.
Mighty Rivers
Heartstrings

Kelis To Perform At Perez's London 'Thing'
Speaking of Kelis, she is the first proper act to be confirmed for Perez Hilton's "One Night In London" concert/party 'thing' at the weekend. Tickets are free and can be obtained thusly.
We'd give our right testicle* to see Kelis do the tracks from her latest album, Flesh Tone live. Last time we saw Kelis live she was promoting Tasty, and was very very good.
*Not really. Besides, what would Perez do with one homeless testicle?

Benny Benassi's "Spaceship" Video
Here's a nice video for the new Benny Benassi track "Spaceship" that we were banging on about the other day. As you can see, it features the lovely Kelis and the one whose name you don't know from the Black Eyed Peas.
Apparently Benny can fly his spaceship with a turntable. Well, well. Convenient.

Mini-Madonna Blogs. HOLLA! HOLLA!
Our love for Madonna cannot be understated. In fact this love is so great that it even encompasses Lourdes 'Lola' Leon, aka Madonna's first born, aka 'Mini-Madonna'.
Lola has been making a bit of a name for herself since turning the big 1-3. Big M has managed to keep Lourdes relatively out of the public eye before, but in the past year she's appeared as a dancer on her mother's Sticky & Sweet Tour and then landed her first magazine cover for German publication Quality.
Lourdes holds a mystical kind of fascination for a Madonna fan. She looks, undoubtedly, like a younger (and some might say prettier) Madonna, and has reached an age where she turns up to red carpet events dressed better than her megastar mother. It's a common held belief that between being extremely camera friendly, bang on trend and the daughter of one of the most ambitious women to have ever walked the planet, Lola is destined for big things.
Unfortunately, someone's given Lola a blog. (Haaaaa!) And little Ciccone seems intent on trashing her own legend by publicly being... well.. 13. Lola's 'blog' is a part of the marketing for the forthcoming Material Girl fashion line; designed by Madonna, Creative Directed by Lourdes. Quite why any 13 year old wants to pimp clothes inspired by their mother is beyond us, but apparently that's what's going on.
The blog is full of juicy 13isms, though. Lola talks about her hatred for the gladiator sandal (afterall, they've been around since she was like... what? 12! OMG!) and finally being of an age when her mother will allow her to dye her hair. And while it reads like the status updates of your average snotty teen's Facebook page, you have to remember that in all likelihood this girl will rule the world some day.

Marina & The Diamonds at Glastonbury
Speaking of Marina & The Diamonds, she made her Glastonbury debut this weekend on the John Peel Stage. Marina performed a selection of tracks from her album, including our personal favourite "Shampain". And she absolutely did a better job than Ellie Goulding. Sorry Ellie.

Shakira does The xx
Of all the acts booked for this years' Glastonbury, perhaps the most surprising was Shakira's prime Pyramid Stage slot. While Shakira is undoubtedly a huge star (especially in Latin American countries), her last album - the fantastic She Wolf - felt like a bit of a bloggers' secret. Still, it is brilliant that she is receiving the kind of recognition that she deserves, and she provided a very suitable cover of The xx. While many mainstream acts use Glastonbury as a chance to perform a cover or too, Shakira was really showing off her muso credibility with this choice. And of course, she more than handles the song, giving it a poppier edge.

What's the difference between Chris Brown and Michael Jackson?
Talking point of the day: Chris Brown took to the BET Awards stage to perform his (much delayed) tribute to the late great Michael Jackson, a performance that ended in what can only be described as an emotional breakdown infront of the whole world.
Some have called Chris' tears a contrived act to try and redeem himself after the Rihanna controversy, while others have said that the whole thing was pretty inappropriate. The performance (and subsequent tears) do feel pretty mistimed; Chris was in no position to pay his respects publicly when everyone else did last year - he was busy being the most hated man on the Internet. And for an artist who has formed a career from doing little more than Michael Jackson impressions, the need to 'close the book' on MJ, so-to-speak, must be huge. But when your tribute is an actual impression, so long after the fact, perhaps it is one kept as little more than idea.
In all honesty, we do feel that Chris' outburst seems genuine. Wouldn't you cry if your career was in tatters? But perhaps it is a little too soon for such public displays of remorse, especially if you're piggy-backing on the legend of a performer that many are still grieving the loss of.

The Obligatory Scissor Sisters and Kylie video
If you've been paying attention to anything that wasn't the embarrassing display of 'football' from this weekend then you've probably heard all the fuss surrounding the above video. Yes, Ms. Kylie Minogue finally made it onto the Glastonbury stage, albeit as a guest of the phenomenal Scissor Sisters.
Considering both acts have solid new albums out, both produced by one Stuart Price, the matching isn't exactly shocking. But it is the highest dosage of campery that the Pyramid Stage has probably ever encountered. Hopefully Kylie's successful crowd whipping skills will have been noticed by one Farmer Eavis and she'll be offered another crack at the headlining slot she missed after her cancer diagnosis in 2005.
See above for the Tyraist display of 'fierce' this side of America's Next Top Model.

Marina's "Oh No!" Video
The aforementioned new Marina & The Diamonds video for "Oh No!" has made it's way onto YouTube which we guess means it's now 'out'.
The promo is filled with lots of trendy 90's references; THE FACE! PEACE SYMBOLS! PASTELS! But while Marina is a very good popstar, and the video inevitably aims to be something, is it just us who finds the whole thing a bit laborious and cheap looking? While it's probably all supposed to be very ironic, this video manages to fill us with very little joy in spite of the Marina branded cornflakes.
Let's hope she finally releases "Shampain" and it does the business for her. She deserves a mega-smash hit before she turns into 2010's Frankmusik.

Lady Gaga Debuts New Song "You and I"
At Elton John's ball last week, Lady Gaga chose to debut a new track called "You and I" which appears to be another one of her big piano-led rock and roll ballads. Gaga even quipped that for this reason it will probably never be selected as one of her singles. Ouch! Was that a dig at her label?
Perhaps her big rock ballads never get selected because they're simply not all that good. "You and I" is in a similar vein to "Speechless", which is no bad thing, but we'll take leccy Gaga over Elton John-lite any day.

Benny Benassi's Big Banana
Fresh from turning Madonna's last single (if we ignore "Revolver", and I suggest we do), Benny Benassi is back with a single of his own called "Spaceship".
The song features a guest vocal from 'I'm-everywhere-making-big-amazing-dance-tunes-right-now' Kelis and can be heard here. While Benassi is no Guetta, he clearly is no stranger to making massive sounding summer dance songs. Listen to this one at a beach party on a Greek island while getting high on something you'll later pass off as 'sun stroke'.

Notes On The New Saturdays Single
It's Saturday, which means it's time for something new from The Saturdays! (*hangs up coat, retires*). The band's new video for their brand new song, "Missing You" is out. As you can see above, it's a bit of a summery beach affair with lots of vocoder effects and discounted Ryan Tedderisms.
The song is taken from the band's forthcoming album Headlines which is less new release than it is rejig of their currently failing album, Wordshaker.
What is horrifically evident from the above video is that the financials surrounding this band must be through the floor. The video is filled with cheap and obvious product placements (anyone got the time??) and yet still looks like it was made on a tight budget. And unfortunately, no matter how pretty some members of The Saturdays may be, sticking them on a beach to writhe around in bikinis is not going to save this entire project or make the video any more appealing. Besides, some members of this band really can't dance.
And as for the song; cheap beats and shameless use of autotune 'effects' to disguise the fact that the verses have no real melody. Really, the whole thing feels so laborious and misguided that we're not sure Headlines will do any better than Wordshaker ever did.
It's a 'no' from me.

Katy Perry Surprises Greg James
We think we quite like Katy Perry and her down-to-Earth 'wackiness'. Radio 1 DJ Greg James has a new 'feature' on his show in which he is presented by a 'surprise' guest. Yesterday said guest was the future Mrs. Brand. At only 6 and a half minutes long, it's worth a glimpse for a dose of Perry humour.

Kylie Confirms Glastonbury Appearance And 2011 Tour
While Daneeeboy.com isn't quite a Kylie Minogue fansite, it'd be hard to pretend we're not pretty Kylie obsessed right now. And thankfully for us Kylie obsessives, the weekend is just beginning! Kylie has confirmed that she will be appearing, or atleast doing 'something' with the Scissor Sisters during their Pyramid Stage slot at the Glastonbury Festival tomorrow.
During a chat on the Jonathon Ross show, Kylie also confirmed that she will take her new album Aphrodite on tour in 2011! If Kylie's PR is reading, you can send us tickets if you like...
